HealthDay News:AstraZeneca, maker of Nexium, announced the news that it has voluntarily recalling all three products from its retail store following the recall.
The company, which is based in Tempe, Arizona, said the recall was based on a product that was sold by AstraZeneca and was labeled as a “pre-expired” product.
“The product that was impacted is our pre-expired product known as Esomeprazole Magnesium, which has not been approved for use in the United States,” AstraZeneca’s website reads. “The product was not sold by AstraZeneca.”
The recall comes amid intense research and development on the topic of obesity and related health issues. Nexium, the same brand that was sold by AstraZeneca, is one of the leading prescription medications in the world. It is prescribed to treat a range of conditions involving weight loss, such as type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure and cancer. In addition, the product has been studied as a preventative measure against certain cancers, including head and neck cancers and breast cancer.
The product is being recalled by the company after it was found to contain a substance that may have caused allergic reactions. AstraZeneca says the company will notify the FDA in the next several days about the recall.
“AstraZeneca has been working hard to develop a product that is safe and effective for consumers and the community,” AstraZeneca spokesman Tim Anderson told. “In this uncertain market, we have to take a hard look at what we have to offer and make sure that we can provide that opportunity to customers.”
Esomeprazole Magnesium is the active ingredient in Nexium and is a prescription medication used to treat high blood pressure, heart disease and type 2 diabetes. It was also used in studies of its ability to prevent heart attacks and strokes.
AstraZeneca has a limited liability company status and does not have any liability in any event. The affected products are listed on the company’s website.

It contains the same active ingredient, sildenafil citrate, as the original brand, Nexium (esomeprazole magnesium).
Esomeprazole is indicated for the treatment of gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) in adults and for the management of acute acid-related diarrhea. It is also indicated in adults and children aged 3 months and older for the treatment of Helicobacter pylori infection in adults. The most common side effects of sildenafil include headache, abdominal pain, dyspepsia, and dysgeusia.
The average treatment duration of sildenafil citrate-treated patients was 18.6 months in a randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled clinical trial.
Sildenafil belongs to a group of drugs called PDE5 inhibitors, which work by increasing the flow of blood into the corpus cavernosum of the penis. This increased blood flow increases the sensitivity of the penis to the effects of the drug and can cause an erection when sexually stimulated.
The most common side effects of sildenafil in clinical trials were headache, nausea, and an upset stomach. These effects are usually mild and temporary. The most common side effects of sildenafil are headache, indigestion, and dyspepsia.
Aromatase inhibitors, such as rilpivirine and phentolamine, are also known as sildenafil drugs. These drugs are used to treat and prevent blood clots, prostate cancer, and high cholesterol.
A small number of pregnant women cannot get pregnant while taking sildenafil, but it may increase the chance of getting an unsafe baby. It should be used by women who are planning to become pregnant. Pregnant women should not use sildenafil.
